How does it work?

The key to the Air Allergy Junior consists of two integrated filters that effectively screen out dust particles, pet dander, pollen, and other allergens as air moves through the machine. An advanced backward curved blower draws air through a durable 360 degree perforated steel air intake, and is channeled to the dual filters, which capture 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns. When the air moves through the carbon cloth filter, it eliminates unwanted odors caused by animals, cooking, smoke, and chemicals. The unique weave of the carbon cloth filter reduces dust while increasing the surface area, helping the filter perform more efficiently, weigh less, and last longer. The Austin Air Allergy Junior does not produce ozone, ions, or negative ions that can be dangerous to those with respiratory problems like asthma and emphysema.

Inspired by State-of-the-Art British Military Technology

In recent years secrecy restrictions were lifted on a new activated carbon material developed by the British military. This material was a lightweight carbon, weaved into a cloth designed to protect British troops from the toxic weapons of chemical warfare. Researchers at the Austin laboratories developed a method for combining the carbon cloth's gas trapping capabilities, with the proven particle filtration of the HEPA filter. The result is the highly efficient HEGA filter. The HEGA lasts up to 30 times longer than conventional carbon/zeolite filters and weighs 13 pounds less.

Low Cost Operation with Little Noise

The Austin Allergy Junior's quality electric motor is specifically designed for quiet and energy efficient operation. A vibration free welded steel body reduces motor noise to a gentle background hush. The sound level is a mere 64 decibels on the high setting, and barely a whisper at 30 decibels on the low setting. The energy efficient Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) electric motor draws a minimal electric current. When on the high setting, power consumption is below 100 watts, reducing operation costs down to pennies a day.

5 Year Limited Warranty

A 5 year limited manufacturer's warranty is provided on parts and labor. The air filters are also covered by a 5 year Prorated warranty under normal residential use. This means that if the filter assembly fails within the warranty period, the owner of the Austin air purifier becomes eligible for receiving a new filter assembly at a partial cost (Some restrictions apply).
