Peer Support Winners 2023

On the night of Thursday 12th October; #diabeteschat headed down to the Reading to Sanofi HQ for the Quality in Care Awards 2023. This year there was a new category for Peer Support and we decided as a community to nominate ourselves for this prestigious award. We were successfully shortlisted as a finalist and were alongside 4 other amazing diabetes communities from all over the UK. We won the Peer Support award for 2023 and this is what the judges said:

“The judges loved that the #diabeteschat offers 24-hour support and allows users to control their own visibility. It is a unique and novel project, done extremely well in a modern way. The entry was exceptionally well-written and bought to life with brilliant media. It brings everyone together and the use of social media means access to a large number of individuals. An amazing project!”

#diabeteschat QiC Peer Support Award 2023 (a big Thank you message)

In this video, #diabeteschat founder Tom Dean highlights the togetherness of community and peer support and celebrates the journey #diabeteschat has been on and the huge achievement of the QiC Peer Support Award 2023 in a thank you message. We wish to thank all the amazing people that have supported the #diabeteschat community since we founded on February 7th 2022; from our amazing team past & present, you guys as the community and organisations and support groups that have supported our peer support community.
